Wigan made it 12 wins out of 12 to start the season with this victory over Featherstone. After a Denis Betts try opened the scoring, 18 year old Kris Radlinski, making his first start on the right wing, went over for a 12-0 lead in just 14 minutes. Only a Mick Cassidy try was added to that before half time with Featherstone's woes being added to by their full back Lee Senior suffering an arm injury. The 18-2 half time score carried until the 55th Minute when Kelvin Skerrett scored and although Rovers did find the next try through Brendan Tuuta, a late Martin Offiah effort wrapped up the win that took Wigan five points clear top of the table after just 12 matches,
