Such was Wigan's standing at the moment, this visit of Australia was built up as "The Fourth Test" and BBC Grandstand weren't missing out in televising the contest. It turned out to be a depressing first forty minutes though with Australia going into a 26-6 half time lead. Wigan earned respect in the end with a 30-20 final score.
