Summary:l |
Andy Gregory was back in dispute with coach Graeme Lowe
after being left on the bench in each of Wigan's last three matches. His
refusal to sit on the bench saw him dropped again and although Wigan won
this cup tie away at Bradford, his class was certainly missed. It was a
similar game to the John Player Semi Final earlier in the season. Bradford
tried hard but Wigan always had too much class and a sin bin for Fairbank
didn't help the Northern hope. Wigan took the lead in the 9th Minute when
Shaun Edwards kick rebounded to himself off the posts. Kevin Iro converted
for 6-0. Bradford hit back with two penalties from David Hobbs but a Joe
Lydon penalty goal had Wigan 7-4 ahead at the break. A Nicky Kiss dart from
dummy half increased the lead to 13-4 second half for Wigan and the game was
sealed with a try in the 78th Minute try from Ged Byrne, who had only just
returned to the field for Dean Bell. |
