Summary: |
With the deal to sign Wally Lewis having fallen through,
Wigan ended up being the choice of Andy Gregory who signing for £130,000 earlier in the
week from title rivals Warrington despite a good offer also on the table
from St Helens. He made his debut in this Preliminary Round Cup Tie against
Workington that was switched from Workington to Central Park. Wigan won
easily with youngsters Denis Betts and Ian Gildart also making their Wigan
debuts here. |
