Halifax only needed a point on this Sunday to clinch the title but few expected them to take that quite literally. A 75th Minute try from Featherstone tied their game at Thrum Hall 13-13 and Fax had to hold on dearly for the full time hooter. Wigan were playing Leeds at Central Park and hoping for the slip but despite doing their job and beating Leeds 29-6, the point was enough for Halifax to become champions.
