Wigan's title hopes had been dent a savage blow with defeats in both Easter encounters having already taken the chase out of Wigan's hands. This ten point second half collapse at home to Warrington pretty much extinguished them. Tries from Ellery Hanley and David Stephenson helped them lead 10-0 at the break Warrington's second half tries from Brian Johnson and Brian Carbert saw them come back for a draw.
