Summary:
Wigan were looking to continue their recovery from a bad
start to the season but faced a tough task away at league leaders and
champions Hull KR. They had Australian prop Greg Dowling making his debut
but things had looked bleak for Wigan when they trailed 12-4 at half time
but Chris Burton was sent off for Rovers (fighting) and that helped Wigan
fight back to lead 16-14. But the score ended up at 18-18 in the final
minute when second rower Andy Kelly nailed a drop goal from 40 metres to win
the match. The loss saw Wigan fall back to third bottom of the table.
