Summary:l

Wigan travelled to Second Division Swinton in the Lancashire Cup Second Round. Wigan kicked themselves into a 4-0 lead with two penalty goals from John Pendlebury before John Ferguson sent Jimmy Fairhurst over for a converted try that made it 10-0. Tries from Henderson Gill and Ian Potter made it 20-0 before the hour mark but Swinton found a try from Mark Lee on 66 minutes. John Ferguson completed the victory with two tries in the final ten minutes, both beautifully converted off the touchline by John Pendlebury.
