Summary:l

Wigan led 3-1 at half time after a try from Bernard Coyle was responded to with a drop goal from Geoff Pimblett. The game turned in the second half when Billy Benyon was gifted an intercept try under the posts for Saints and they led 6-3 after Pimblett converted. They controlled the match after that, adding drop goals from Pimblett again and Harry Pinner.
