Summary:l

14 days earlier Wigan had beat Saints at Knowsley Road 28-11 to end their title hopes but they couldn't repeat the dose in this Premiership Trophy tie a week before Saints played in the Cup Final at Wembley. It was tight early on but a try from David Hull midway through the second half sent Saints towards victory and they would go on to win the Premiership Final.
