Wigan will have been spewing at the way they threw this Premiership Trophy tie away. They led 16-2 in the 52nd Minute when Bob Irving and Saints Eddie Cunningham were both Sent Off for Fighting. That incident sparked champions St Helens into life and they found four tries afterwards to seal a "remarkable recovery" to win 22-16. All that despite Saints having needed an extra replay to progress past their midweek Round 2 clash with Bradford. One newspaper reporter described this turnaround as ""the most incredible transformation" he had ever seen.
