16th (Top 16 Qualify for 1973-74 First Division & 1972-73 Play Offs)
The day before this match the monthly RFL disciplinary hearing saw Colin
Tyrer, Colin Clarke and Dennis Ashcroft all handed a one match ban
following recent red cards. This put huge pressure on Wigan going into this
game, battling relegation without key experience, and all looked terrible when Wigan trailed 7-0 at half time.
But after the break they rallied and Keiron O'Loughlin's 75th Minute try
sealed a vital win that put Wigan back in the top 16, but only by one point ahead of York.
