Summary:l

With just seven days between the original BBC Floodlit semi final date and the Final that was scheduled on December 15th, fitting in the replay was quite difficult. It ended up being played on this Sunday Afternoon without TV coverage and would become the first derby to be played on a Sunday Afternoon (matches on Sunday's were banned until 1967). Whilst a day fixture goes against the "Floodlit" Trophy idea, it was December and thus it would be pretty dark and dull anyway, so the floodlights would have been on.

The replay was another tight match that had seen a mixture of penalty and drop goals for 4-0, 4-2, 6-2, 6-4, 8-4, 8-6, 8-8, 10-8 and 10-10 scores before the games first try was scored by Les Jones 15 minutes from the end to give Saints a 13-10 lead. Then on 70 Minutes Wigan led for the first time, 15-13, following a try from Keri Jones and a conversion from Colin Tyrer. But Saints retook the lead with a try from Billy Benyon five minutes from full time and time ran out for Wigan.
