For the second season in a row, Wigan and St Helens
played out a draw in a Floodlit Trophy Semi Final at Central Park. Saints
had played a tour match away in France on the weekend prior but still
competed well in this game. Saints were leading 7-5 at the break and the
only scoring the TV viewers saw on BBC 2 in the second half live coverage
was a equalising penalty goal from Colin Tyrer that forced the replay that
the clubs would have to fit in before the final in just 7 days time.
