Summary:

With just a week between the original tie and the final, this BBC Floodlit Trophy Replay needed to be re-arranged quickly and thus this game just two days after the original tie. In the first game. Wigan had been two minutes from victory before a late penalty caused a replay. In this replay at Knowsley Road, that wasn't televised, it was equally as tight in the first half. Like the original tie, the two tries had been scored before the break but Wigan edged through to the final by winning the second half 6-2. Wigan did well to get victory with Colin Tyrer absent and Colin Clarke having been replaced injured after just 26 minutes.
