Summary:

It was described as "dull and unexciting" but Wigan got the job down on this trip to Hull in the Challenge Cup First Round. It took until the 26th Minute for the scoring to being with a quick inside pass from Eric Ashton getting Frank Parr over for 5-0 after Colin Tyrer converted. But on 32 minutes a combination of Neale and Keegan got Clive Sullivan over for 5-3, a score which remained to half time.In the second half a try from Bill Francis and a drop goal from Eric Ashton settled the match 10-3 in Wigan's favour.
