Summary:l |
This match had been pushed back two days to a Monday
Afternoon because fog ruined the initial Saturday date. The tourists were
not in great spirits though because their "much liked" masseur W.Hunter had
died of a heart attack the day before the game. They always looked to have
too much for Wigan though, even though the scoreboard was close throughout.
Australia led 7-5 at the break and that ticked over to 9-7 by the 50th
Minute when the tourists ended up reduced to 12 men with prop Noel Kelly
sent off for a incident with Stan McLeod. Although Wigan found a try from
Trevor Lake after that, they were ill-discipline themselves with Graeme
Langlands kicked four penalties in the match. Heavy Rain spoiled the last
twenty minutes also. |
