Summary:l

The poor winter had meant 92 days had passed since Wigan fans had seen their team play at Central Park. What a game to return with though with Leeds visiting for the top billed tie of this particular Challenge Cup round. It proved to be a hell of an effort for Wigan to win though. Things looked really bleak on 57 minutes when, trailing 9-5 at the time, Frank Collier was sent off. Wigan chipped themselves back to 9-7 before the numbers between the sides ended up even with Leeds Centre Fred Pickup being sent off on 68 minutes. That dismissal proved costly for Leeds because Wigan pushed on in the final ten minutes to score two tries and send themselves through with a 20-11 win in the end.

Referee:l

A.E Durkin (Dewsbury)

Attendance:l 27,819 (Gate Reciepts: £4,071)
Note:l Poor Weather earlier in the season had pushed the Challenge Cup being schedule. This Second Round tie was played on what should have been the date of the Quarter Final Ties.
