Wigan needed to start playing some of their numerous
postponed matches from earlier in the season and began by hosting Halifax at
Central Park two days after the place had hosted a Great Britian v France
Test Match. Whilst Billy Boston and Eric Ashton returned, Dave Bolton was
not used after his test involvement. That didn't stop Wigan winning with
Frank Carlton's four tries helping earn the victory.
