Summary:l

Wigan were attempting to become the first team to win the Challenge Cup three seasons in a row but their chances ended here at Hull in a repeat of the previous season's Final at Wembley. Hull had a 7-5 half time lead after a try from Johnny Whiteley and two goals from Bateson was responded to by Wigan with a try from Bill Sayer and conversion from Fred Griffiths. The Second Half was tight but Wigan took the lead 8-7 with an Eric Ashton try and that remained until the 67th Minute. It was then that the touch judge ran on the field to see Griffiths penalised for obstruction and Bateson kicked a penalty to put Hull back in front at 9-8. Wigan flapped trying to get a score back but a try from Kershaw would finish the tie in Hull's favour.
