After losing to St Helens two days earlier, Wigan were
looking to get back to winning ways quickly in this Bank Holiday Monday
match away at Salford. But it was reported that this was a "poor"
performance by Wigan despite their win. They got big help with Salford
playing with 12 men from the 17th Minute onwards after their second rower
Parsons got injured. Tries from Billy Boston and Roy Evans helped Wigan into
a 14-9 half time lead. In the second half all the scoring came from penalty
goals with Wigan kicking four to Salford's three.
