Wigan Warriors v Bradford Bulls
- Under 20s Valvoline Cup
2012. Kick Off 3:00pm at Douglas Valley, Wigan RUFC.
Played as part of "fan day" at Wigan Rugby Union instead of
the usual Orrell, almost 3,000 witnessed this return to
action for the Under 20s after seven week break for Nines
Wigan have plenty of work to do at this
level if they are to retain the reserve grade title for a
five season in a row because they lied in 7th place going
into this game. They have two matches in hand to reach the
top 4 which has to be the target.
They got that mission off to the perfect start with a
60-6 hammering of Bradford in this one. Was a grinding
first half to be fair but Wigan won at a canter after the
half time break.
Their was also a welcome return for Sam Powell on the
bench who made his first Under 20s appearance since
breaking his leg in a match against Warrington on March
24th. Iain Thornley also made his first appearance in 13 a
side action since returning from Sale Sharks.
