Bradford Bulls v Wigan Warriors - Under
20s Valvoline Cup.
June 2011. Kick Off 3:00pm at Odsal Stadium.
The Under 20s used their game in hand to go four points
clear at the top of the Valvoline Cup table but it took a
remarkable comeback to do it.
They trailed by 34-6 after
just 30 minutes of this contest but despite only using two
of four substitutes they crawled all the way back to nick a
46-42 victory with two tries in the last three minutes.
Second Rower Danny Bridge was sent in by Ben Davies to
claim the crucial try just seconds before the final hooter.
Under 20s Assistant coach Matt Peet said afterwards that
he "had two front rowers on the bench who (he) just
couldn't get on because of how well Ben Davies was
playing". He added that he was always confident of a
comeback because he felt that Bradford had built their
early lead by being "perfect" rather than Wigan being poor.
