Aerial View of The Co-Operative Community Stadium
The Co-Operative Community Stadium in Orrell is the current training base of
Wigan Warriors and is where the Reserve and Academy matches are played. Up until
mid 2007 it was the home of Orrell Rugby Union (then called Edge Hall Road). The
ground has a main stand on one side and a terraced shed on the other. One end of
the ground has a small open air terrace but this has been in a dilapidated state
in recent times and is thus fenced off for the lower grade fixtures.
Chairman Ian Lenegan has stated that he intends to bring the stadium up to a
better standard so that it could be used to host friendly matches and Challenge
Cup ties against lower league opposition but so far no work has been done on the
facility.

Directions:
By Road: Leave M6 at junction 26 (M58 Interchange) and follow
signposts for Orrell. At first traffic lights turn left on A577. At second
traffic lights turn left into Moor Road. At third traffic lights turn left onto
Church Street. After approximately ¼ mile, turn left into Edge Hall Road and the ground is on your left.
By Rail: You need to be heading to either Wigan North Western or Wigan
Wallgate stations. Then if arriving a Wallgate you stay there and catch a train
for Orrell station or if arriving a North Western you need to come out of that
station and cross the road to catch a train for Orrell station from Wallgate.
Orrell Station is within 50yards of ground. Alternatively you can exit either
station and catch the 362 St Helens bus outside Wigan North Western which will
take you to Orrell or catch a taxi (4 miles).
PARKING
Please note that from 2008 parking within the grounds of the stadium will be
limited to pass holders only, and entry to Edge Hall Road itself will therefore
be strictly controlled. Supporters attending matches are therefore advised to
park in the surrounding area and walk to the stadium.
