Summary:l

Swinton lost their winger Yates with a broken collar bone in the 17th Minute which left them fighting on with a man down. Remarkably though they led 5-0 at the break with a try from Lewis after a break by Shaw. Wigan though rallied after half time with Jimmy Featherstone first scoring a try in the 52nd Minute which was 5-5 after Martin Ryan's conversion. Wigan then went ahead in the 63rd Minute with Jack Flemings try making it 10-5 before Wigan wrapped up the win with John Clinton sending Ernie Ashcroft on a 50 metre dash to the try line. Ryan converted to complete a 15-5 win.
