Matches are nine a side played 7½ minutes each way. Interchanges are
unlimited with all squad members (maximum 13 players) available in each game.
Their are no scrums. Simple turnover restarts play after a mistake or the
end of a tackle set.
Usual scoring of 4 points per try and 2 points per conversion
(which is dropped kicked).
However instead of option for a conversion, teams have the option to opt
for a "powerplay" which gives them one tackle to score an additional try from
the 10-metre line instead. Powerplay tries are worth 4 points also.
After a try conversion, or successful power play try, the game restarts on
half way with a tap for the side that has just conceded. However if a power
play has been attempted and failed, the side that has just conceded gains 10
free metres, thus being able to tap restart on the oppositions 40 metre line.
Restarts are not controlled. You can race to restart quickly after a score
and if the defence ain't ready - tough luck!
